Every event represents an opportunity to tell the story of who we really are.
On the occasion of Perlage Winery’s 40th anniversary, we wanted to celebrate not only an important milestone, but also the values that guide our work every day: sustainability, social inclusion, attention to the land and responsible beauty. A corporate event can (and should) be much more than a party: it can become a concrete tool for generating positive impact.
Organizing a sustainable event requires vision, care and collaboration.
In this article we want to share some of the choices we made and lessons learned while organizing this anniversary, with the hope that they may inspire other companies to design more responsible corporate events.
A TREE FOR EVERY IMPORTANT MOMENT
To give lasting meaning to our celebration, we decided to plant a Hedgehog Maple , a species capable of absorbing up to 190 kg of CO₂ per year . It was a symbolic, yet concrete gesture that testifies to our commitment to the future. From this experience we learned that choosing the right tree and the ideal location takes time and planning: if well thought out, this gesture can become a visible and tellable message for years to come.
SOCIAL INCLUSION AND LOCAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
One of the most significant aspects of the event was the involvement of the local area and entities that promote social inclusion. The decorations and prizes handed out came from collaboration with local social cooperatives, bringing human and ethical value to every detail.
ALI Cooperative of Valdobbiadene made decorative bottles as place cards and menu holders from recycled newspaper, thanks to the creative work of people with disabilities from the Day Care Center.
We also gave them old company brochures, which will be turned into original materials for future projects.
In Soligo, on the other hand, CEOD and Fabrizio Viezzer Association children created elegant wooden crates for magnum bottles, demonstrating how manual dexterity and teamwork can give rise to unique and meaningful objects.
The time required for these projects was longer than for traditional suppliers, but the result-human, aesthetic and value-was worth every expectation.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND CREATIVE REUSE
Reducing waste and giving new life to objects was one of the organization’s main guidelines. Corks collected during the event were donated to the I Sogni Association, in support of projects for cancer children.
Perlage branded plastic cups, already used at past fairs and events, were given to guests, accompanied by a message about the value of reuse. Banners used at the Vinitaly booth were also reused for the winery set-up, demonstrating how each material can live more than once.
Organizing a sustainable corporate event also means this: looking with fresh eyes at what already exists, saving resources and making room for creativity.
GROWING BIODIVERSITY IN AND OUT OF THE CELLAR
As a final tribute, we chose to offer gifts that would invite an active gesture and reflection. Our guests received melliferous flower seeds from the EnoBee project, created within the Perlage Sustainability Team to support biodiversity and bees. Along with the seeds, also Sprout plantable pencils, symbolizing a simple but powerful message: “Biodiversity is in our hands.”
These gifts, more than any static object, engaged people emotionally, creating a deeper bond between the event and its participants.
A GENTLE EVENT TO INSPIRE A BETTER FUTURE
Perlage’s 40th anniversary was more than a celebration: it was a collective exercise in coherence and responsibility. Every choice-from tree planting to collaborations with social realities, from the reuse of materials to the care of biodiversity-was made possible by the synergy between people, territories and shared values.
We share this experience with the hope that it will inspire other companies, organizations and professionals to design sustainable corporate events capable of combining beauty, inclusion and positive impact. Because any celebration, if thoughtfully designed, can truly tell the story of who we are – and who we want to become.
