Noemi Visor. Technology as a vehicle for social sustainability
In 2024, Perlage supported the non-profit Association I Sogni Onlus, which has been committed to accompanying children and young people suffering from serious illnesses, including terminal oncology, in the realization of deep and meaningful desires for more than 20 years.
The Noemi Visor project represents an evolution of this effort.
Through the use of augmented reality kits, it enables children and youth confined to the hospital or home to enjoy immersive and relational experiences that would otherwise be precluded to them: attending a concert, attending a game, “reaching out” to symbolic places or special moments, without moving from their rooms.
The project uses augmented reality viewers combined with high-resolution 3D cameras, transforming technology into a tool for emotional connection, presence and relationship. It was born from the desire of Noemi, a little girl who was able to virtually meet her favorite artist, giving rise to an idea capable of bringing emotion, awe and relief even in contexts of great fragility.
Perlage chose to support this initiative by donating two Noemi Visors, recognizing their human and educational value.
A project that shows how social sustainability can also pass through silent gestures, in which technology becomes a tool for dignity, inclusion and access to emotion, just when time and possibilities are most limited.
