Sustainable Holidays: Quid X Perlage Limited edition

3 min read

A Prosecco DOCG that encompasses quality, elegance and solidarity! 500 bottles of pure love!

Col di Manza Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG for this Christmas is a spokesman for a Social and Environmental Sustainability project.

For the holidays, Col di Manza is dressed in a special kerchief, which was created by the Verona-based social enterprise Quid. The social enterprise’s brand is named the Quid project. This one engages daily in activating a virtuous mechanism that starts with the recovery of surplus textiles, continues with the design and production of accessories and garments that is proudly defined as “Ethically Made in Italy” and concludes, but really is the spark that sets it all off, with offering employment and training opportunities to those at risk of labor exclusion.

Quid has been active for more than a decade and has given employment opportunities in various business fields to more than 140 employees of nearly 20 different nationalities, the majority of whom are women. Quid with the support of international organizations, companies and partners succeeds in initiating projects with a strong social impact.

Perlage engaged with the social enterprise in making the Col di Manza Limited Edition handkerchief because it strongly believed in the power of inclusivity and low-impact design. We had been planning to do an upcycling and social sustainability project for some time already, when we visited Quid’s spaces and met those who are active there every day we were convinced it was the right partner. The attention to detail, the willingness to make custom products and the attention given by the embroiderers convinced us we were moving in the right direction. Browsing through the fabric warehouse and making an initial selection of fabrics was fun but also instructive. It was non-trivial to figure out which fabric might be right for us in terms of thickness and coloring, and then to return to the company and choose together with colleagues the perfect match. A shared choice with great ethical value, this is what Col di Manza Limited Edition is for us.

In this bottle you will find all the quality from the grapes coming from the Hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG and all the goodness of a project that wants to give a second chance to those who are most at risk of exlusion in the labor market to be able to rediscover their talents, without neglecting the great potential of upcycling that gives new life to raw materials destined to be thrown away.

We are happy to say that thanks to the collaboration between Quid and Perlage, 15m of fabric and new inclusive employment opportunities represented by 10 hours of work and training in Quid have found new life.
