A workshop at the winery to discuss #genderequality

Seminar on organic wines at Perlage Winery, in the Prosecco DOCG Conegliano Valdobbiadene area.

It is one of the focal points of the 2021 B Corp #UnlockTheChange campaign, alongside the circular economy and the climate emergency

The Perlage team decided to take up the challenge set by one of the B Corp campaign’s slogans: “Why is ‘work’ masculine and ‘unemployment’ feminine?”.

Starting from this important invitation to reflect on gender equality, a meeting of around three hours took place on 9 July. Thanks to the collaboration with the Treviso-based cooperative LaEsse, the group was able to explore and discuss a range of topics, such as: gender image and stereotypes, preconceptions built up and entrenched within our cultural context. Or again group culture and leadership, gender balance — which considers the differences between women and men in managing time — and the gender gap, which identifies differences between the sexes in the quality of their career paths.

The meeting proved a valuable opportunity to root out the various clichés surrounding gender equality, revealing that everyone can play their part in reversing dynamics that are only seemingly entrenched.

Plastic free vineyard: our concrete commitment to sustainable viticulture

Perlage has launched the “Vigneto Plastic Free” project to reduce plastic in the vineyard, replacing it with compostable materials and low-impact techniques. Thanks to collaboration with schools and associations, plastic has been reduced by 92.7 percent in the biodynamic vineyard of Col di Manza Prosecco Superiore DOCG. The initiative demonstrates Perlage’s commitment to environmentally friendly, sustainable viticulture that respects the soil and the future.
