The competition honors the Perlage brut and reveals market trends for Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG
As is well known, competition in wine competitions is constantly increasing; despite this, Canah Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG has won yet another medal. The Drinks Business has awarded it a Bronze medal in the Prosecco Masters 2022 competition.
Prosecco Masters is now in its ninth year, and the panel of judges has an increasingly detailed understanding of the global Prosecco scene. Among the trends observed in the Prosecco market is a general increase in quality, even among DOC Prosecco wines priced under €15. The number of bottles produced over the past 15 years has risen from 60 million to 600 million. It is not only quality and quantity that have increased, but also winemaking styles, which are becoming increasingly diverse. The number of brands producing brut or extra brut is on the rise; thanks to greater grape selection and improved ripening, wines are less “harsh” but contain lower sugar levels.
In this context, Canah Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG stands out as a winning, modern, and versatile choice; with its 8 g/l of residual sugar, it appeals to those who prefer brut wines that aren’t too extreme.
